ECONOMIC FUNDAMENTALS OF NON-AGRICULTURAL ACTIVITY OF UKRAINIAN FARMS

Abstract
The subject of research – a set of production and socio-economic relations that arise in the process of non-agricultural activities of farm development. The purpose of the study is to develop practical recommendations for the implementation of non-agricultural activities by farms. Methods. In the process of research general scientific and special methods of economic research were used. Research results. The article is devoted to the consideration of economic bases of development of non-agricultural activity of farms. The variability of the external environment of farms is due to global climate change, European integration processes, increased competition, as well as their important role in addressing food security, job creation, sustainable rural development. This determines the need to identify strategic priorities for the development of small businesses. The development of scientifically sound approaches to the diversification of production activities is also relevant for Ukrainian farms. According to research, today farms can not only produce marketable agricultural products, but also receive income from the development of non-agricultural activities, developing rural tourism, as well as engaged in handicrafts, mushroom picking, medicinal herbs and more. The main directions of rural tourism development on the basis of farms are: first, the need to determine the potential for rural tourism development at the regional level; secondly, the need to ensure the safety of tourists; thirdly, conducting marketing research of the market of tourist services and the interests of tourists in rural areas of different regions of the country; fourth, the organization of a large-scale advertising campaign. Another important area of non-agricultural activities of farms is the development of folk crafts. In order to fully support handicrafts, it is necessary to provide measures of state support for the development of folk crafts and handicrafts. These measures can be: promotion of products on the market; development of a set of state support measures for artisans operating in rural areas; organization of training, organization of exhibition activities, etc. Scope of research results. The results of the research will be used to improve the organization of non-agricultural activities.
