Abstract
The purpose of the article is to substantiate and highlight the various models of socio-economic development implementation and to determine the basis for the sustainable food system formation in Ukraine. Research methods. During the study, the following methods were used: general scientific methods (abstract-logical, induction and deduction, systems approach; analysis and synthesis), as well as special research methods: statistical comparisons, groupings, sampling (to assess the consequences of the implementation of various models of socio-economic development and determine the basis for sustainable food system in Ukraine). Research results. It was found that the current structure of the food system is at the epicenter of global problems, which are addressed by the Sustainable Development Goals, the success of which depends on the choice and implementation of the foundations of the socio-economic development of countries. By means of a comparative analysis, it has been proved that the countries that have reached the highest level of sustainable socio-economic development have the highest level of food security. Consequently, building a sustainable food system is a priority area that should be given the highest priority by the government. The basic foundations of the sustainable food system formation in Ukraine have been substantiated, in particular, the importance of introducing the doctrine of socio-economic development on the principles of sustainable development; adoption of unified and standardized strategic documents for the sectoral industries on the basis of sustainable development with the coordination of the interests of the main stakeholders and taking into account national priorities in the strategy process. Scientific novelty. The justification was further developed ways to solve the problem, it is proposed to form a unified system of strategic management of a sustainable food system based on doctrinal foundations that combine forecasting, strategizing, resource balance and budgeting, based on stimulating the innovative development of the domestic agri-food sector. Practical significance. Indicators are determined that assess the performance of national economies with different types of models of socio-economic development. The basic principles of the formation of a sustainable food system in Ukraine are substantiated on the basis of the introduction of an equitable system of distribution of national wealth, which will contribute to the formation of a broad stratum of the middle class, ensuring its effective demand and opportunities to improve health and well-being.
